Job Description

Seeking an experienced Seat Builder for established furniture manufacturer. Must provide an updated resume for consideration.
Constructs, assembles, and installs internal frames, springs, foam padding and base components for chairs and sofas.
Experience with the following is essential for the job:
- Pneumatic tools
- Woodworking Equipment
- Reading Blueprints
Key Responsibilities
- Frame Assembly: Build and glue wood or metal seat frames from blueprints, specifications, or production tickets.
- Spring & Webbing Installation: Install sinuous or coil springs, webbing, and clips to build core seat suspension.
- Padding & Cushioning: Cut and attach foam, batting, and insulation layers over frames using pneumatic staple guns and adhesives.
- Tool Operation: Safely operate pneumatic staple/frame guns, hog ring guns, saws, drills, and industrial glue applicators.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished internal structures for stability, symmetry, squareness, and noise prevention before passing units to upholstery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: High school diploma preferred; 1–2 years of experience in woodworking, framing, or furniture manufacturing.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read tape measures, production orders, and technical schematics.
- Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for 8–10 hour shifts and repetitively lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and hand strength to operate heavy-duty staple guns and pull materials tight.
